Budapest I

Titled Budapest I, the piece was written in a train station in central Budapest, 2004. The first movement depicts a mournful, isolated character in the city singing to himself a despairing ballad. The second movement finds the music becoming more excited, and presents a relief from personal termoil (which a city can often do), before returning to the first movement.

This composition, like the majority of my music, is written for DADGAD guitar. However, the notation allows it to be performed or arranged for any melodic instrument.
